THE CHOPPER GUYS CREW...
After his discharge from the navy in 1963, Gary Munoz went to work for his father a tool and die maker for Harron Richard & McCone.   Collaboration with Romeo Palimides, one of the first slingshot chassis builders, later led to the formation of American Racing Equipment.  Gary worked as a designer until 1976, during the development of the spoked magnesium dragster wheels, meanwhile building his first Harley®.  In 1980 Gary took a design and tool development position at MDC Vacuum Products, Gary was responsible for most of the prototype work and further developed his skills in machining jigs and fixtures.  As a master machinist he has excelled in fabricating precision tooling for over 25 years.  Later that year Gary took his expertise in fixtures and jigs, combined it with his love for motorcycles and that became the birth of Chopper Guys.   See Gary's chopper

After being denied acceptance into the military in 1969, Mike  took a job at MikeSeaman's Medical Laboratories doing sheet metal fabrication and production of linear accelerators.  While continuing his work at Seaman's Mike opened ”Co Co County Bike Works” in Martinez California.  As the customer base grew and The Bike Works became more successful Mike was able to leave Seaman's to be his own boss full time.  In 1982 Mike moved “The Bike Works” when a better location became available.   The main thoroughfare of Hwy. 37, was the place to be, just down the road from Sears Point Race Way in Vallejo California.  “The Bike Works” became, “California Performance Iron, (C.P.I.)”.  During dinner with a mutual friend, Mike and Gary met.  Mike was interested in the manufacturing side of the Motorcycle Industry and Gary was looking to expand Chopper Guys, they decided to join forces.  When the building next door to      “C.P.I.” became available it was the perfect opportunity for Mike and Gary to take Chopper Guys to the next level, producing a higher volume of custom motorcycle frames.

TomAt Chopper Guys we are very proud of the quality and precision that goes into our products.  We know that our frame designs and workmanship set the standards for the rest of the industry.  Notice the unique features  that go into every frame we build.  Before you spend your hard earned money, we want you to see the detail you can expect from our products.

Tom our machine shop specialist is seen here (left) on one of our CNC machines, while Harry (right) uses a vertical mill for finishing off parts.  Chopper Guys uses CNC components on every frame for precise mating of parts.  “We feel our custom equipment allows us to maintain the closest tolerances in the motorcycle industry.”    Jose

Dave D.Our welders like Jose (right) and Dave (left), assemble the frames into the fixture before welding.  Our technologically advanced fixtures virtually eliminate heat related movement and the precision of each fixture makes for a perfectly straight frame every time.

All of Chopper Guys frames are TIG welded for strength and appearance.  Here you can see John D.(right), doing pre-assembly of parts before welding them onto the frames.John D.

Our tube shop is where all frame and swing arm rails are formed.  Dave O (right),our lead tube bender, is forming up a set of rigid Swedish rails for one of our choppers.  Tubing used is mild steel and all rails are checked in a  fixture for a perfect fit. Dave O.

Every component made by Chopper Guys is built in the USA.  All parts are thoroughly inspected by our in-house quality control department  before leaving the facility. Matt (right) is responsible for a section of the Q.C.  Frames are placed on a granite block and dial indicated in for perfection. MattThe strictest standards and consistent customer satisfaction constantly drive Chopper Guys Biker Products so you can expect the best.

ScottResearch and development of new products is crucial to us at Chopper Guys.  Scott Andrieux, director of R&D, makes sure Chopper Guys stays on top of today's changing trends, technological advances and structural integrity.  Scott (left) also works side by side with Gary, designing fixtures and jigs for new products as they are developed.  Scott has been with Chopper Guys for over 8 years.  Starting out as a machine shop helper, he has advanced his way through the shop and is now lead machinist and shop foreman.  His knowledge of motorcycles and the industry has helped in the creation of new products and the constant abuse of his Chopper Guys rigid frame helps us maintain strength and durability in all of the frames that we build.  See Scott's rigid
Scott has taken an extended leave of absence, however we look forward to his return!
